The Good, The Bad, and the League: 10/19 - 11/1

(Moved to Mondays for easier updates)_ Worlds is down to the final two teams, TFT set 2 will be rolling out soon, patch 9.22 is close, and the end of split 3 is nigh. **Follow-Ups:** * **Mac voice still not working properly** Bug grouped with other Mac bugs. Something to do with .plists **Ongoing** * **None****Server Stuff: ** * **Messaging to players impacted within Client(10/24, ~90 minutes)** NOC tries to post messaging on ticket to players in EUNE, messaging fails to post. Investigation shows posting to any ticker fails. Assistance from other teams leads to discovering someone didn’t upload the proper key to master and clients, causing a desync. * **Incorrect SSL certificates(10/25, ~12 minutes)** Reports come in that .leagueoflegends.com websites are showing with expired SSL certs. NOC escalates to an appropriate Riot group, who delete the old certs and update to the correct one. * **Match History failing to load(10/27, ~140 minutes)** Automated alerting notifies the NOC that data volume for match history is too high. Escalation to the appropriate Riot team leads to disabling Match History while triaging what’s going on. A rolling restart of a critical service is required and started, and after completion Match History is re-enabled. * **Extended HW Maintenance(10/30, ~37 minutes)** Network engineers notices that 2 nodes are in an unhealthy state after the scheduled hardware maintenance (and before the servers are opened for players). New instances to replace the unhealthy ones fall over as well, and investigation leads to a full restart of the services to fix the problem. The full restart ends up fixing the problem, but also exceeds the expected downtime, hence causing the unwanted extension. * **Issues with players purchasing content(10/30, ~38 minutes)** Automated alerting sees a spike in errors but doesn’t trigger any flags. Player Support notifies the NOC about issues with purchases. NOC pages the appropriate team, which discovers a config change to store caused the issue, and the change is rolled back. * **Players having login issues(10/31, ~55 minutes)** Log-in errors begin to spike across the US. Automated alerting notifies the NOC, and Player Support notifies the NOC around the same time. NOC contacts the proper team, who discovers an update to a service didn’t finish properly, which forced a rollback of the data. * **Games failing to upload, impacting Match History(11/1, ~125 minutes)** Match History stops working as the data being transmitted/stored is overloading the allocated bandwidth. Adjustments are made to the service to fix the backlog of games waiting to be stored. **Game Stuff: ** * **Project Akali Rose Quartz Chroma disabled(10/25, ~1 hour)** The NOC is notified via email that Project Akali’s Rose Quartz Chroma has missing assets, which cause invisible animations in game. Considering that has some game-breaking issues, the NOC disables that particular Chroma until the assets are fixed. This bug will be added to follow-up section. _Morgageddon_

Seeing posts like this makes me want to work with Riot. These numbers are very impressive, solving most of the problems in less than two hours! This confirms various statements from Rioters that "No day at work is the same" and they are "very agile in production and monitoring stuff" - sure, most of that sounds like company-speak, but I still believe your NOC-team has an exciting job. {{sticker:slayer-pantheon-thumbs}}
It's nice to see that the problems with voice on mac are getting close-ish to being resolved. Narrowed down to a file (folder?) is better than nothing.

Get your shit together and fix this. This game been out for more than a decade this should not happen.
What shouldn't happen, bugs? They are gonna happen no matter how long the game has been out. It's not like they want things to go wrong.
The whole "client can't get to game start" thing is really starting to FUCKING BOTHER ME, there is no competitive integrity getting leaverbuster for the client shitting the bed. making me lose LP. This is just awful.
3 things i hate about this game that when even i have them in a game i just want to go to riot studios and kill everyone to satisfy the hate i have for BLITZ... CC teams.. AND AFKS blitz: has soo mush range on his pull he can just lay back and feed kills with no real risk since it takes players from half a map and with no way to be saved. cc team: 1 cc sure he hit it cool.....oh wait now some hit another stun on the guy already stun so now he cant move for a longer time...oh wait now his rooted...o wait the 3 sec stun is off cool down... oh wait your dead oh wait your hole team is dead to 1 with damage cuz no one can move. afk....one %%% quit so we lose the game. FIX. *remove blitz* no one loves him make it so that cc cant stack remove blitz crank again. lower the importance of 1 fucking person
i hate how long every thing takes i have a life and cant allways have an hour to set aside for a game thats why urf needs to come back i get burn out from long games and supper slow buils urf solved alot of the problems i had there were bugs and games were based on how well you know the game not just stupid proper builds. the burn out comes when others dont call lains and you get pissed at them not the game mode.

sorry i thought "kindly" is also another way of saying PS or please... but oh well, we only have limited time... so yeah, i'm trying to grind for more tokens coz of this matter... i was just also thinking about the other people who can't even afford the world pass... in addition, i've ady submitted a ticket concerning this matter... and the support just gave me the link or forwarded me here in the league board... thank you anyways for the response though i didn't get any straightforward answer or help...

bugs are a constant part of literally anything wit more than 5 lines of code. Thats why they have people around at all times to fix them asap. Maintenance crews exist for digital space as much as they do for physical infrastructure and for all the same reason. Any moving parts eventually break or stop.
